Webinars are one of the strongest engagement channels in the MCM landscape, and they are rated as effective marketing tools in HCP communication strategy. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused an increase in the online events. Web Events are no exception to this shift. The current trend shows a shift to online conferences, webcasts as well as web meetings which is expected to become the future of medical meetings. In this insight, we share with you the expectations and perception of HCPs on Web Events.
How these Insights were Generated?
Recently, we conducted a survey on MedSynapse online community of doctors, to understand the overall perception and expectations of the Doctors, both in the South East Asia Region and in the Middle East region. We share with you the insights collected from these regions.
Insight 1 – There Has Been an Oversupply of Web Events Since COVID-19 Pandemic
93% Believe that COVID-19 pandemic has increased the need for more online presence and event attendance.
Insight 2 – The Most Important Elements of Online Events According to the Doctors
CPD Points followed by the Topic and Content are the most important drivers while attending the webinar
Insight 3 – Doctors’ Preference on Live vs. Recorded Versions of the Web Events
For a majority of doctors, it does not matter if the event is recorded or live.
Insight 4 – Doctors’ Preferred Time of the Day for Attending Webinars
Doctors prefer to attend the webinars during Evening or Late Evening to fit it in their busy schedule.
Insight 5 – Doctors’ Preference on Duration and Frequency of Webinars
Doctors find a webinar between 30 to 60 minutes ideal and they prefer 1 to 2 events from one source on weekly basis.
Insight 6 – Doctors’ Preference on Privacy and Sharing of Contact Details
About 80% of the doctors are reluctant to share their contact details with the sponsors of the web events. However equal percentage were comfortable using their real name while asking questions or interacting with the faculty of the webinar.
